Yield farming is earning rewards by supplying assets to DeFi protocols, typically a mix of trading fees and a protocol governance token.
Also called liquidity mining. It is higher and more volatile than staking and is exposed to impermanent loss and smart-contract risk. A high advertised yield does not guarantee a profit.
