Total value locked (TVL)

Total value locked (TVL) is the total value of assets deposited in a DeFi protocol or pool, a common gauge of its size and adoption.

Higher TVL usually means deeper liquidity and less slippage. Aggregators such as DefiLlama track it across protocols and chains.
